pizza di firenze

The best pizza we had in Italy was a last minute order at the Borghello di Donatello (or was it bordello?) right next to the Duomo in Florence. A Napoli pizza made with buffalo mozzarella. It was really the cheese that made this pizza. It’s everything you would imagine and expect from a visit to Italy.

On our third day in Florence, we decided to follow the buzz to the outlets just a short bus ride outside the city. We ended up at The Mall. A strip of about a dozen very high end shops – Armani, Gucci, Ferragamo, Fendi. Let’s just say we’re fancy, but not that fancy. To console our wasted afternoon at The Mall, we ate. Duh.

Black olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and prosciutto. A close second to the Napoli pizza from the night before.
