adventures in eating

out of the pan, singapore

I’m back from my adventures in Southeast Asia with tons o’ pictures to share.

First up was 4 days in Singapore where we shacked up at Swissotel the Stamford (what’s up with the awkward sounding name?). In case you were wondering, it is flippin’ hot in Singapore. Like really hot. Makes sense that we spent lots of time in the labyrinth of malls and MRT stations huh?

First meal was a late breakfast in the Raffles Plaza at Out of the Pan. For something around SGD19 (if I remember correctly) you got your choice of salad, crepe, and beverage. Not a bad deal as most of the food in the mall is generally pricey.

A very dressing-filled green salad of mixed greens, cucumber, green beans, and balsamic.

I picked the beef and pepper crepe which is one of their featured dishes. Nice and light, well seasoned but not that remarkable.

Topped it off with iced Milo. Milo is the awesomely green packaged, psuedo-chocolate, tasty hot or cold, no milk required, morning drink of my Filipino youth. Hence, perfect for my first morning in Singapore.

Out of the Pan did its job as it sustained us through Chinatown, Little India, down the Esplanade, and to the Merlion. Afterwards we sought more refuge in another mall and downed about 8 different types of juice/boba/random slushie drinks.
