flavor tripping?

Ever heard of the miracle fruit? Me neither up until about 20 minutes ago. My marathon kdrama watching (Hello, Miss! if you’re wondering) was interrupted by some internet perusing and this article by the NYT.

So here’s the summary:

– It’s small and red like a cranberry.

– You chew the sucker and rub the pulp all over your tongue.

– It makes everything you eat for the next 30 minutes to 2 hours sweet. Goat cheese turns into cheesecake, beer turns into a chocolate shake and cheapy tequila morphs into Patron.

– People are holding food tripping parties to partake in the craziness that ensues.

– No apparent side effects from consumption.

– More info at the Wikipedia entry here.

Okay so who’s with me? Let’s get some berries and cheap tequila.
