I’m 27 28 29 (ok, fine) 30 and  live in the beautiful, yuppified, culturally diverse, weather-blessed Bay Area. I used to live in the humid, sparkling clean, culinary jackpot that is Singapore (hence all of the Singapore and Southeast Asia posts on the blog). I’ve semi-retired from blogging (aka I’m super lazy, haven’t charged my camera in months, and post once every 3 months or so). I keep the blog up since there are days when the urge strikes. When I have a meal worth sharing or made a trip worth flaunting or cook up something extra tasty.

I went to school in LA but am originally from the cow fields of California’s Central Valley. I have 3 younger brothers which means I have bossy tendencies. I love eating, sleeping, traveling, watching Korean soap operas or cheesy Filipino movies, listening to corny pop music or OPM, dancing, buying shoes, arts and crafts, fizzy water, aloe vera drinks, and sitting in my big, comfy, awesome arm chair. I used to hate (but now love) tofu and Thai food. I still hate maple syrup (and, as Jeff mentioned, lychees – you can also add papayas, guavas, longan, and chico to that list). My newest love are Kyoho grapes but I’d also arm wrestle you for atis, mangosteen, or green mangos and bagoong.

  2. Yep, I’d arm wrestle you for mangosteen as well. Or wait, lets just go together and get large amounts of them and eat them together, shall we? Singapore has enough for the two of us. I think.

  9. Hi there,

Stumbled upon your blog accidentally !

Just want to say I love the way you document the process of your food discovery ! From behind the works right up to the way they are being served and sold on the streets.

What a wonderful archive ! Great photos too !

I’m trying to follow your blog but there don’t seems to be any function to do so ? But maybe it’s because mine’s not wordpress ? err..
